In honor of National Biomedical/Clinical Engineering Appreciation Week (May 22–28, 2011), AAMI will hold two free webinars for healthcare technology management professionals.
The first webinar, on Tuesday, May 24, will explore the future of healthcare technology management and will be held at 11:30am Eastern (register here). The second webinar on Thursday, May 26 will discuss tips, strategies, and resources to help biomeds and clinical engineers advance their careers and their profession, and will be held at Noon Eastern (register here).
Paul Kelley, CBET, of Washington Hospital in Fremont, CA — a member of AAMI’s Board of Directors and its Technology Management Council (TMC) — will present The Future of Healthcare Technology Management. Specifically, Kelley will share outcomes of the recent Future Forum on Technology Management, which included a recommendation on a new, unified name for the profession, as well as a desired future for the profession.
Medical technology is evolving at such a rapid pace that the future of the profession is destined to change. The Future Forum — which included a cross-section of 30 interested industry professionals — created a vision for how that change should be harnessed for the betterment of the profession.
